GREYHOUNDS
Ecclectic Austin duo Greyhounds return with a 3 song EP titled Adobe.
The duo of Anthony Farrell and Andrew Trube made their way out to the West Texas town of Marfa, rented a small adobe house, and set up an ad hoc studio to write and record a batch of new ideas. The resulting songs were taken back to their Austin studio Bud's Recording Services, where they were mixed and mastered by engineer Sam Patlove. Three of the tracks - "Big Bend," "Henrietta," and "West Texas" - are featured on this new EP due out on Friday, May 13th. Check out the tracks below. The band will be playing select U.S. tour dates this summer, as well as a full return to Europe to promote Adobe. More About Greyhounds: Keyboardist/vocalist Anthony Farrell and guitarist/vocalist Andrew Trube met and began collaborating over 20 years ago, over a shared love of The Meters. The duo has recruited a number of drummers over the years, including ace Austin session player Russell Lee, who currently occupies that seat. For a decade, Farrell and Trube were mainstays in JJ Grey's MOFRO, but left in 2016 to focus exclusively on Greyhounds. They've released four full-length studio albums and one full-length live record (for Ardent Records and Nine Mile Records) and developed a unique funky Texas sound that Trube describes as "Hall & Oates meets ZZ Top." The band also frequently records and collaborates with dozens of other Austin musicians in their home studio Bud's Recording Services. "Greyhounds make music real music, the right way, for all the right reasons." - Derek Trucks "(Their music) is somewhere between a heartfelt hymn and the dirtiest jank you've ever heard." - JJ Grey |
